Anny heard a shrill in the distance on her path. She instantly looked up from her phone, and glanced to the West. She didn't know where it came from, but knew it came from the same direction as she was going to meet Yuki and began to worry. She told her to meet her in the field, what if something got there first.
She began to run. Closer and closer, until she spotted Yuki swinging in a playground area. So it wasn't her. Anny looked around and ran to Yuki, "What the hell was that?"
"I'm not sure, I wasn't paying attention."

Suddenly they heard a small shrek come from the woods, and Anny ran towards it.
There they spotted a girl sitting alone in the darkness, covered in mud. She had a look of horror painted across her face.
"What's wrong?" Anny asked frightened but trying to find out what was going on.
"There." One word. The only thing the girl uttered as a breath between her spasms of silent shaking.  Anny was scared. She heard Yuki creep closer to where the girl had pointed.
The air was tainted with copper. Blood. She knew, something was wrong, if only her eyes would adjust. If she would feed more often this wouldn't be a problem. She felt more human than ever in that moment.
Yuki stared out at the fogged covered grass field that spread out in front of her. The swing set she sat on was part of a children's playground tugged between a cul de sac and forest, the swings and play area being the highest point and the field being the lowest. Everything was blanketed in fresh snow and late night, early morning fog.

It was nice being back in the human realm, things in the Otherworld always seemed to overwhelm her. Being around someone who knew her as more than "your highness" would be a good change, though she wasn't sure if it would be just a reunion or something more. The last time she had been called to a gathering Anny had told everyone they were being hunted down. That was the whole reason that Lucipher had found her again, she came out of hiding to help Anny and her life had been turned upside down. One thing was always true, when the people she had met over the years got together it was ever boring...or calm.

Yuki looked down at her new cellphone, it was 3:15. Anny said they would meet at 3:30 and be done before the sun came up. The sun didn't hurt Yuki but it was still unpleasant here when she wasn't used to being in it for so long. She watched the stars in the clear sky while she waited for what would come. Before the silence would be broken.
